Chef Bernard has more than 16 years of kitchen experience at Marina Bay Sands and The Ritz-Carlton Millenium Singapore.
This chef makes excellent western cuisine, and you’ll love it because he put so much talent and passion into it. A family reunion, a celebration with friends, or a work party would be ideal here.
Simple unassuming place. Quite a nice surprise find actually. The food is good and the service is pleasant. I like that they aren’t afraid to make recommendations. The chef used to work in a hotel. The price is higher than what you might immediately expect from a quieter neighborhood, but still value for money. – Luann See

A location near you now offers an intriguing selection of Western food with Asian influences from Fish & Chicks. Enjoy the best of both worlds as exotic Asian spices are incorporated into traditional Western cuisine and served in big servings.
Two young adults who are passionate about serving delectable meals are the owners of Fish & Chicks. They even went so far as to investigate and test the top batters, look for the greatest suppliers of fries, and experiment with the top dipping sauces.
Here is where you should go if you want the best fish and chips in town. They seasoned it with salt and chili crab sauces, adding a delicious finishing touch. The fried chicken wings taste amazing and are quite appetizing. Not wanting to miss them is a must.
This is value for money coming from a coffee shop. The serving portion was decent and the food was served hot. The variety of sauces they serve is quite impressive, especially the salted egg yolk. The fried chicken was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Out of all the dishes, only the onion rings weren’t well done. Overall, will go back again – AI L

Fish of all kinds are available in their restaurants and for delivery at Big Fish, and Small Fish.
Fish fillets are battered and served with premium skin-on fries or freshly cut potato crisps. The options range from the standard Dory to more expensive options, including Hoki, Snow Cod, Sea Bass, and Haddock.
The fish is kept juicy because of the light, crunchy batter that seals in the moisture. Their extensive menu of inventive sauces, such as salted egg sauce, cheese sauce, and curry sauce, will improve your fish and chips dining experience. When you pair your fish with their freshly cooked crisps or the classical way with traditional fries, you may enjoy the explosion of flavors throughout an intriguing experience.
Even their version of Spicy Fish & Crisps is available to satisfy local palates. There is also the option of the grilled menu, which is better for you. Visit their locations in Tampines, Jurong, Bugis, Yishun, and Punggol right away to try them out!
Small place with a fast food setup. Serves a good variety of fish meat in the fried fish menu. If you are craving for some deep-fried fish and chips, this can be your dining place. The batter is thick and crispy.

The Broadway American Diner is a typical diner with a relaxed ambiance and delectable cuisine. Deliciously thick burgers with house-made patties and freshly baked, all-natural buns would be their best-seller. If you are not too hungry, they also provide delicious hotdogs and cakes and ice cream for dessert.
Even if you could have a favorite American eatery, this is the only spot where you can get authentic American food. For authentic comfort food from America, this is the place to go.
The burger was one of the best and the fries were really good. Nice deco! The apple pie was a letdown. The buffalo wings tasted great but were rather skinny. – Raj M

The Old Airport Road Food Centre has housed Western Barbeque for over 40 years. Many visitors come for the renowned Chicken Chop, served with garlic sauce rather than the more common brown gravy. There will be many people waiting in line because of its popularity.
The classic recipe for the garlic sauce, which has been around for decades, calls for more than ten distinct ingredients. It makes sense why folks keep returning whenever they have the chance.
Their chicken chop is not to be missed every time I visit this hawker center. Succulent, tender, slightly charred skin, sweet….. it is just so good. They have raised their price recently to $7.50 but to me, it’s worth it. The fries that come with it is good too! – Derek Neo

Binomio Spanish Restaurante focuses on creating the ideal symbiosis between a relaxed Tapas Bar and a fine dining room. Binomio Spanish Restaurant brings Spanish culture and cuisine to Singapore in a welcoming and modern setting. To bring Spanish flavors closer to home, Mr. Asifur Chowdhury, a massive lover of Spanish food and culture, felt the urge to build a Spanish restaurant in Singapore.
Binomio, run by Executive Chef Gonzalo Landin and General Manager Eduardo Ortega, seeks to serve authentic Spanish food in a cozy, modern environment to Singapore’s cosmopolitan clientele. This duality makes it the ideal space for everyone, from friends and families celebrating a special occasion, to more formal gatherings where business executives can entertain guests.
Very delicious food at what I would consider a high-end tapered. Take the tapas you like, and blow it up with excellent ingredients and refined execution, and you get Binomio food. – Raymond Lim

A top-notch deli and European-style café called The Berthold Delikatessen is located inside a Kempinski hotel but is also accessible to the general public. It pays tribute to the founder, Berthold Kempinski, and is inspired by the style and architecture of the time.
It adheres to the same standards of exceptional service with premium goods and materials that personify the saying “timeless elegance” as Kempinski Hotels. This well-known European-style café serves Berthold’s coffee, which goes well with a variety of bread, rolls, and pastries There aren’t many bakeries in Germany that serve Bretzel, Farmer’s Bread, and Hefezopf, among other traditional German baked products. But every single day, Berthold makes it.
Lots of delicious bakes!! Nice and calm environment, quiet too. I bought a pear danish as a takeaway, it was generously sized and delicious. Also spotted lots of other bakes. A single service staff who is usually not at the counter, very busy running cleaning tables, and preparing food. But fast and efficient once you get his attention. Will go again! – Gem Cai

Many regular patrons frequent Wow Wow West at ABC Brickworks Food Centre because of the stall’s enormous quantities for less than $9. The menu pays respect to traditional Western cuisine even though the stall isn’t legally a historic restaurant because it’s operated by a young couple. A sizable deep-fried fish cutlet is topped with crunchy fries, baked beans, and slaw in the $9 Fish & Chips.
Great western food. Had fish and chips and chicken cutlet. The chicken was crispy yet juicy. Fish was also crispy and flaky. Didn’t taste like dory which was great. Huge amount of fries, baked beans and coleslaw as a side. Also ordered the chicken and pork sausage. The sausages taste the same but the pork sausage was larger (cost more) and had a better texture. Would probably skip the sausages next time and just go for the western food which was good value for money. Do be on time if you’re going for dinner. They really stop taking orders from 730pm onwards. – TC

Given that the popular Chef Hainanese Western Food only operates for two hours each day, it might be difficult to find a table at this stall. They specialize in Hainanese-style Western food that customers praise as being really nostalgic. For a complete experience, choose their Mixed Grill ($13). This is served with a fried egg, a mix of sides, including baked potatoes, along with fish fillet, chicken chops, pork chops, chicken sausage, and chicken chops. The prices for the other main dishes on the menu start at $5.
Old school western food stall with generous portions and affordable prices. I tried the mixed grill for $10, which comes with 1 large piece of pork chop and chicken chop. It was so good I went back to try their beef steak on a separate occasion. Both dishes are yummy and value for money. No issues with the long queue because I went during off-peak. Uncle was also friendly cos he is not so stressed. Big yum! – Calvin Tan
Apollo Western Food
|Wed-Thurs, Sat-Sun 12 pm to 9 pm
|105 Hougang Ave 1, #02-32, Hainanese Village Centre, Singapore 530105
Chicken cutlet devotees can enjoy the Apollo Western Food dish. Since the business has been operating for 35 years, the Chicken Cutlet ($7) has been a top seller. The cutlet manages to maintain its tenderness in the center while having been deep-fried to bone-crushingly crisp edges. Along with the homemade sweet buns that aren’t also deep-fried, the crinkle-cut fries, baked beans, and other basic sides help you avoid the weakness.
I have been eating at Apollo Western Food for the past 33 years. This quiet unassuming western food stall is a hidden gem in Singapore. Fish & Chips may only cost $5 but its fillet is perfectly fried and juicy fresh. I had Morton’s last week. Now I’m having Apollo’s medium rare NZ Chilled Angus Ribeye at $14.50. I close my eyes to savor the meat, I can hardly tell the difference. The same couple has mastered their craft for the past 30 years. We are lucky to be enjoying their masterpiece at hawker prices. – Jeffery Sung

The family-run hawker enterprise Tip Top Western Food has been in operation for three generations. Although the menu has undergone modifications since its inception with the addition of Cheese Fries ($3.50) and Prawn Aglio Olio Spaghetti with Mushroom ($5.50), the family recipes have all been passed down through the generations. If you want to save money, have their Steak, which costs just $9.50 and comes with fries and coleslaw on the side.
Ordered 2 chicken cutlets and the serving size is huge for both the chicken and coleslaw! The wait was not too long (about 5 to 7 minutes) and the food was not too oily. Great Western option if you crave some fried food. – Wu Zhengwei

It is hardly surprising that businesses that only serve all-natural wines (a phrase used loosely here, of course) are now subject to this new levy. Jeans and pricey wine lists are at the forefront of this anti-winemaking tradition push. No matter the cost or Vivino rating, it is promoted by wine professionals who are essentially wine aficionados and want you to enjoy the excellence in each bottle you purchase. With the launch of Rebel Rebel, this desire will come true.
I recently discovered this hidden gem of a restaurant located on Bukit Pasoh Road. It has both indoor and outdoor seating, but I recommend sitting indoors as there is more space once you go through the counter. The food is absolutely delicious! My favorite dish is the curly flower steak, which is cooked to perfection and served with a delicious sauce. The burrata cheese with sourdough is also amazing, and the olive oil and butter that come with it are perfectly flavored. The beef steak is also very good, and the sauces that come with it complement the meat perfectly. – Keith Chung
Ye Lai Xiang Tasty Barbecue
|1 Kadayanallur St, Singapore 069184
The ‘Maxwell Food Centre,’ the country’s oldest Western eatery, is so well-liked that many refer to it as having the greatest Western food in Singapore. Huge servings of Hainanese-style Chicken Chop ($7.50) and Pork Chop ($7.50), along with their crispy fries and french fries, have been offered by Ye Lai Xiang Tasty Barbeque since they opened in 1976. If you visit The Frying Pan, you can anticipate rich stews, perfectly charred grilled meats, and generous servings of sides.
A large generous portion of chicken chop. Taste great and reminds me of the old-style western food that we all love. The stall is also easy to find (facing outside towards Maxwell Road) and near the center. Worth a try! – Keith Chong

As you wander along the length of restaurants at Punggol East Container Park, it is difficult to miss the big, bold yellow, and blue containers from Big Fish Small Fish. One of Singapore’s most reasonably priced fish and chips can be found at Big Fish Small Fish’s container restaurant, giving them a good reason to yell for your attention.
They specialize on serving various fish dishes, such as fish and chips with Dory ($6.90), Seabass ($11.90), and Salmon ($12.90), all of which are reasonably priced. Fish Fries ($7.90+), XO Shrimp ($7.90+), and Fried Snickers ($6.90+) are available for dessert. In contrast to many Western eateries, Big Fish Small Fish uses potato crisps in place of fries.

Every week, over 40 matured farm cheeses are air-freighted from Europe and are available for takeout or dining in. Naturally, cheese is the main ingredient in the food, which also includes a variety of substantial salads and “tartines” (open sandwiches). The atmosphere on the bottom floor of Nicolas Le Restaurant is cozy and welcoming for families, and there is a bar there as well. Chef Nicola gets a great view of his patrons from his open-concept kitchen. Due to the fact that he visits each table to say hello, you’ll notice that the majority of customers are regulars.
There is only one tasting meal available for $98++; there is no a la carte menu. You consume the food the chef makes. Please let the chef know in advance if you have any dietary allergies or limitations so that he may adjust the dishes to meet your needs. Pork, pigeon, beef, rack of lamb, and Atlantic seafish are among the five available main meals. The menu is changed twice a month in accordance with the seasons.
I have not been to this lovely restaurant for almost 4 years since Covid started. Nothing has changed, still tip-top in terms of food and service. It is located in Teck Lim Road, which is very close to Chinatown. Parking is generally a concern, especially during lunch and dinner. They do provide valet service during dinner time. The boss Nicolas is always engaging his guests, and it is a very relaxing and cosy atmosphere throughout the whole course of my meal. – Ben Wong
