Taufik Batisah, a co-owner of CHIX Hot Chicken, was our first Singapore Idol. It became well-known among many Singaporeans, who proudly claimed it to be the first to provide halal Nashville CHIX Hot Chicken! Their chicken is distinctive because it is breaded and dusted with the ghost pepper, one of the “spiciest peppers” in the world. Choose the amount of heat that is most comfortable for your taste buds from the three options available: moderate hotness, extra hotness, and insane hotness. Or, you daring, just challenge yourself to the hottest level!
The first place in Singapore where “Hot” means hot. Chicken fried to perfection, crispy on the outside juicy, and tender on the inside. Had the pepper Jack combo, and the sauce was delicious. Generous chicken-to-bun ratio. Drinks are on the expensive side, 2.90 for one glass of lemon tea is steep, first assumed it’s free flow but it isn’t. Worth a visit tho, and will sure come back. – Zef Mrb
Delicious fried chicken freshly prepared. Sandwiches and fried chicken with fries or slaw. Different levels of spiciness are available. The sauces are all great and the owner was friendly. I’ll come back again to try other sandwiches. – Gregory
Probably homemade fries instead of store-bought. Highly recommended as a lunch option. – Imran Tahir

Swedish meatballs are what you’re craving. Why not try this Swedish café instead of heading right to IKEA? In fact, you may explore with a lot more classic Swedish foods at Fika, such pickled herring. Who knows, you could develop a whole new appreciation for Swedish food!
Meatballs were paired nicely with the sauce, potatoes, and jam! The chicken crepe was nicely flavored. The breakfast set was nice, especially the two sausages included on the plate. The creamy pasta was really good as well, really tasty and filling. – Samuel Roy
The food was tasty, decently portioned, and generous. I had the mushroom pasta which was done perfectly. Also tried the desserts and ice cream which were all delicious as well. – Jonathan Goh
A nice cozy restaurant in the Arab street. We were given seats on the 2nd floor. Reservation is a must if you are going for lunch or dinner as it can get crowded. – Rafi Mohamed

Service was superb! Though we had some mishaps with our food, our server rectify it immediately and constantly check on us on our food. She even makes small conversations with us. Service with a smile. Felt the warmth from her service. – Rogue Aurora
The food was fantastic! A huge improvement from our last time here. We had the taco platter – 6 tacos on a plate. The tacos held up its fillings well and maintained a good crunch at every bite. Every single one was well seasoned, and well balanced and the proteins cooked perfectly! Will return for more. – Qistina Aliffi
Tried the taco platter to sample different flavors and it’s one of the best tacos I’ve had. Service was good although we had to wait a bit long for the food. Worth the wait though. The drinks are not really worth it but I’m all for the tacos, so yummy and filling. The empanadas were great too. – Linh Ha

The Good Luck Beerhouse serves over 20 different types of beer in its dim sum and craft beer bar. The ciceroni (beer lovers) will love this location since there are so many different flavor combinations. You may accompany your relaxing time with dim food in addition to their assortment of beers. However keep in mind that there aren’t many seats at the bar, so be ready to stand or try to avoid the busiest times.
Awesome collection of locally brewed beers on tap. They feature lots of beers from That Singapore Beer Project and Brewlander. Mango Fever and Kiam Sng Di were great. Vibes are awesome on Haji Lane, recommend sitting outside if it’s not too hot. – Shubhit Singh
Food-wise, we had boneless shrimp paste karaage and fried hokkien prawn noodles. The karaage is crispy on the outside, but soft and tender on the inside. Each bite is a delight. As for the hokkien prawn noodles, it’s something I’ve been longing for being away from SG for years – and it didn’t disappoint me. If we’re not ordering to share, I would want it all for myself. – Khoo Cheng Boon
We appreciated it that they played great music at a volume that we could still carry on a conversation comfortably. – PH Ong

Want to avoid junk food? Yet they are also concerned that eating a healthy diet will make them eat bland salads. There’s no need to go further because Limaa specializes in tasty, healthful meals. Limaa cafe provides several “clean versions” of delectable dishes including rendang and nacho chips.
A quaint, unassuming cafe that truly makes delicious food. Truly under-rated. Better than some of the hipster joints in the area and. Easy on the wallet too! – A Dhafeer
Astaghfirullah. Ever since my weight loss journey, I’ve been trying to watch what I eat. But the second I bite onto their Rösti, I knew I had to order a second set with a different protein! – Shirah Mohd
Small shop with big and delicious rosti! I had pulled beef and mushroom rosti and my partner had grilled chicken thigh and avocado rosti. The beef was cooked well and very tender, mushrooms were also well seasoned and goes well with the beef and rosti. Rosti had a nice crisp exterior and a melty interior! Phenomenal! – Chin Hui

Fried chicken and pancakes are simply amazing! I’ve always wanted to try other things on the menu but find myself going back to their pancakes cause it’s simply that good. – Melvin Tay
An excellent find for brunch or coffee, with good service and a pleasant ambiance. The gingerbread latte was a pleasant surprise especially since it’s not Christmas. The earl gray lavender cake was delicious with lemon zest cream. – Divyanshu Mahajan
A quaint store with some spaces outdoor. Ordering is required to be at the counter (very bar-like). Chicken & Pancakes is excellent – well received by the team. I loved the spiced chicken (while it looks small) it’s quite filling. The food comes very quickly. If you are in the neighborhood you can pop in and try the food. – Andrew Chwee

They’re running on a walk-in basis and it can get crowded so if you are in a hurry, avoid coming during peak lunch/brunch/breakfast timings. Queues can get quite long. – Vaylor Tan
Came on a weekday morning so there wasn’t much queue. Waited about 15min to get in. Ordered Basic B and a truffle cream mushroom croissant! The sourdough bread was awesome, cream truffle mushroom was slightly too creamy for me though. Overall it’s good! – Zoe Li
Dropped by on a Tuesday afternoon around 3+ and did not have to queue to get a seat. The interior isn’t very big and it was 80% full despite it being a weekday afternoon. – Kenny Yap

We reserved the table through Eatigo and enjoyed 60% off the menu for the main courses, which is a very good deal in this area. The dishes we ordered, bacon pasta, ribeye steak, and double pan-fried chicken with one soup and one cold drink, the final bill after the discount only cost us 59 dollars. The lady boss is always very friendly with a smile and prompt response to our needs. Will come back to try those we didn’t order this time. – Ben Lin
We booked via Eatigo and received 60% off menu prices. We had crabmeat pasta and fish & chips, both good and serving sizes adequate. There’s only 1 service staff but he’s courteous and explained what items are entitled to a discount and that water is chargeable. We did not feel rushed to leave or make additional orders. Even after we finished our food and the plates cleared, the staff continued to refill our glasses with water. The total bill came up to $22, which is a good value at a very nice bistro. Credit card is not accepted here. – Avril Teo
Service was okay, they took a bit longer to prepare food. Kichen looks decent, food is decent for the price. Without the 60%, I would think the price is absurd. But with a 60% discount, it’s almost comparable to hawker food. Things to note: tap water is 50 cents/glass. There is also a service charge. – Rafe
