Under The Linden, a restaurant named after the famous Walther von der Vogelweide poem is infused with love, romanticism, and an avant-garde approach to contemporary French cuisine. The poem describes the meeting of two young lovers “neath the lime trees” on the heath amid gorgeous flowers and crumpled grass. The aim of the Under Der Linden is for the guest to experience joyful moments of love in the midst of nature.

Highlights:

  • Linden’s Might Breakfast ($24)
  • 45-day Dry-aged Beef ($78)
  • Squid ink pasta ($23)
Customer Reviews

Instagrammable and pet-friendly cafe with pretty decent food and not too overpriced. Pesto pasta and salmon were excellent. The steak, however, was too fatty on one side and leaned on the other; we had to cut the sides off as it was pure beef fat (not marbling). I would not recommend ordering this. The cakes are good too, not too sweet and friendly. The bonus is that pets are allowed indoors, which is nice as most cafes are outdoors only for pets.

Fantastic experience. Dishes follow a perfectly mastered progression/storyline; everything is delicate, precise, and detailed. A mix of tastes develops in your mouth and gives this acceptable dining satisfaction level! Service was excellent, and the chef came to have a quick chat—a brilliant chef.
The place is excellent, too though the carpentry would require a bit more care.
Overall a fantastic time, and we’ll be sure to come back!

Beautiful and zen-looking place, perfect for morning meetings. The cafe is only open from 7 am – 2 pm. Open air and facing the lush greenery.
There were so many beautiful bakes available. I had the breakfast set, which cost $4.50 and came with a slice of bread (few choices) with a choice of spread, two eggs, and a drink. They only serve local kopi here, which is reasonably good.

Very nice setup. We sat outdoors with cloudy weather and two huge blow fan; it was lovely. Ann was accommodating and provided excellent recommendations. Ann also helped us decide on the menu where we go with blind taste but had the main change from fish to lamb. The cocktails are all very friendly too.
