Red Sparrow, Singapore’s first Vietnamese restaurant to be officially certified and recognized by Vietnam, delivers authentic Vietnamese cuisine in the heart of Dempsey Hill. You should have Bo La Lot (grilled beef wrapped in betel leaf) and Banh Xeo (a popular street snack), in addition to the customary pho and spring rolls (a crispy stuffed rice pancake).

Overall, the food is really authentic Vietnamese cuisine and is tasty. A bit disappointing as several items on the menu are not available and we just need to order other dishes. – Joyce Yong

CO HAI BANH MI

Cô Hai Bánh M is a relaxed Vietnamese restaurant on the Beach Road commercial area. The bánh mi is probably the most well-known meal at this long-established café, which provides a wide selection of Vietnamese street cuisine. The storefront is ordinary except for some magazine cut-outs plastered on the glass, including a depiction of Barack Obama devouring a bánh mi.

The food is delicious! I especially loved the grilled scallop with spring onion. The decor is really cute and cosy. It lifts the spirits. Seating on the 2nd floor is a must! – Chalita Eng

The Orange Lantern

From the architectural decor to the cuisine provided the creators of Orange Lantern seek to communicate their Vietnamese ancestry. Their concept was inspired by historic Vietnamese silk lanterns, and they intended to bring luck, cheer, and warmth to their customers through the meals they cook.

They have great food that is HACCP and halal-certified. As an appetizer, start with the delightful Mango Salad. Their fresh vegetables, particularly the Golden Tofu with Seaweed Floss, are well worth tasting. The Special Beef Noodle Soup is a fantastic main course option. Finally, a cool lemongrass tea will round out your dinner.
