Ah Seng Braised Duck Rice is a game of chance to enjoy, mainly because they can be closed or sold out on the day of the visit. The classic braised flavors from the braised marinade, with a sauce that is notably deeper (blackish) than the Hokkien-style sauce’s usual glazed caramel colour, were well received. As a result, many consumers have been drawn to Ah Seng’s Teochew-inspired dish and have waited anxiously for their time to try it.
Delicious braised duck. Usually, we order half a duck or a whole duck for takeaway. Add some pork stomach soup and braised pork. Have to queue at least 30 mins during weekend lunch timing. But the queue does move fast. – RC

The version of the meal served at Ah Xiao Teochew invokes memories. Simple but reassuring. Since the 1990s, the no-frills Teochew-style braised duck rice has been available at Ah Xiao, which is currently operated by second-generation proprietors. Although it has a light consistency, their distinctive braised sauce has a slightly sweet flavor that harmonizes well with the dish’s fluffy rice grains.
Bendemeer Hawker Center has a lot of yummy food to offer. Ah Xiao Braised Duck is one of them. This store is by Kevan, most might know his parent’s store in Golden Mile Food center. I get a different mix each time, sort of an Omakase of mixed duck meat, intestines, pig head (seasonal), duck wing and tips, duck liver, Taupo, , sometimes i eat kway sometimes yam rice. It depends! But must eat the chili, there’s two kinds one is more garlicky vinegar style, one is like more red chili for duck style, both are delicious! He sells out early and there will be a line, queue patiently and you will be greatly rewarded! – Petrina Loh

For more than 60 years, Heng Gi Goose and Duck Rice has specialized in the Teochew cuisine. Before moving to its current home at Tekka Market and Food Centre, this well-known restaurant previously opened its doors at the now-defunct Hill Street Food Centre. The flavorful braised sauce is unquestionably the star of this dish, as it should be. You want to eat more rice during your dinner because the flavors from the infuse herbs aren’t overbearing.
Love the old-school flavors. While the meat is tender and tasty, I find the braise sauce particularly appealing, especially with the rice. And then there’s the soup – very flavourful with a hint of something extra (herbs?). Kinda regret not going for the drumstick when they said they were out of beancurd. Guess I’ll have to come back again. – Wei Tan

According to rumors, Uncle Yang, the proprietor of Ah Heng Duck Rice, created Heng Gi Goose and Duck Rice, and the latter is currently operated by two of his pupils. In addition to the bone-in duck, this shop provides a variety of sides to round out your dinner, including braised eggs, pig skin, pork belly, and preserved veggies. It is essential to brush the expertly cut duck with the vinegar-based chilli sauce in addition to the salty-leaning sauce.

Another popular restaurant in Singapore is Tai Dong Teochew Duck Rice, which has been around for more than 30 years. Despite the seemingly endless line, business is brisk and the wait to grab a dish isn’t long. The flavorful gravy made with soy sauce uniformly colors the duck flesh, making for a pleasing bite all around. Add some cabbage as a side dish for a crisp contrast.
Succulent duck meat and tender pork belly complemented with savory sauce that goes well even with white rice. The belacan chilli basically hits the spot and cabbage is a must order. – Maurice Ng

This business, which is located in the always busy Ghim Moh Food Centre, will be easy to find. Chuan Kee Boneless Braised Duck, a former recipient of the Michelin Bib Gourmand, debones the duck for patrons. They use fresh Malaysian ducks instead of the frozen ducks used by other stores, thus they will be sweeter and more delicate than their counterparts made with frozen ducks. Even though Chuan Kee makes the meal in the Teochew manner, it is completed with a delectable sauce made in the Hokkien manner and thickened with starch.
Had the braised duck rice set, yummy and the kids finished all of it. The set comes with pieces of duck, tau kwa (beancurd), half egg, peanuts and soup. Soup got herbal taste not bad. – Hoong Wai Wong

The sloppy yet delicious rendition of Sia Kee Duck Rice has won over many admirers over the course of their more than 40 years in business. There are just two items on their menu: duck porridge and duck rice. Those dining in parties may choose the duck platter, which also comes with a sizable piece of duck meat plus sides like tofu, peanuts, and beansprouts. Individuals appreciate the simple Hokkien-style single-portion duck rice.
Delicious duck and rice. My wife loves their soups. Reasonably priced given their popularity. Really humble boss. Take note the place closed at 4 pm. Parking is a pain, especially during lunch hours. – David Poh

Hup Seng Duck Rice is housed in an unpretentious coffee shop, yet despite the location, it attracts a sizable lunch crowd. Hup Seng cooked the entire duck for around 30 to 40 minutes before serving the Teochew variation to ensure a delicate taste. This goes well with a bowl of the palate-cleansing preserved mustard greens duck soup (giam chye ark tng).
