How to Go to Langkawi
Langkawi is accessible by air or water! The majority of travelers fly into Langkawi International Airport and then transfer to their accommodation. As an alternative, you might drive up to Penang, Kuala Kedah, or Kuala Perlis and take a ferry over. Additionally, there are ferries between Satun and two locations in Thailand. Langkawi maintains a consistent temperature all year round, in contrast to the majority of other Malaysian islands where the monsoon season has a significant impact on the weather. Since it seldom rains during the dry season, which runs from December to February, this is the greatest time to come. However, keep in mind that since these are the busiest months on the island, there may be a bit more traffic during these months than at other times of the year!
Getting Around Langkawi
Since there is no public transportation in Langkawi, we advise getting about the island by vehicle. Purchasing one, or going on day trips for convenience, are other choices. On the island, Grab is also extensively accessible, so don’t worry if you need a quick ride! We just reserved a taxi or Grab car for our vacation.
The prices of the rides are relatively reasonable, with short rides starting at RM6. You may also take a taxi, however, keep in mind that the cabs in Langkawi operate on a fixed rate system rather than a meter, so even a brief journey could cost as much as RM15. You can also hire a bicycle.
