We had a very happy dinner here. First meal in Penang, didn’t know what to eat and this place seemed very popular. But we called and they are fully booked. Just when we were going to another restaurant, we walked passed this place and checked with the owner to see if they had available another day. But there isn’t any before we leave Penang. The owner is super nice, find a way to get us 4 seats in a long sharing table. As we are wondering what to order, the owner has a lot of great suggestions that accommodate our intolerance of spicy food. Later on, we were transferred to a nicer table. – Christie Sin

Located in a beautifully renovated old home, Ivy’s Nyonya Cuisine is well-known. The restaurant may not be opulent, but don’t let the storefront deceive you—it is definitely snug. The opposite is true of their cuisine, despite its clarity and simplicity. The majority of the dishes are expertly made, and Jiu Hu Char is available. They give a range of lunch boxes that include beverages, and the meal rates are relatively affordable.

The food was top quality. Honestly, one of the best Peranakan meals we’ve had in a long while. Don’t miss out on the soup and otah dishes! The owner was also friendly and helpful. Definitely coming back to this gem in Penang. – Alvin Foo

The ambiance is so-so, food is slightly unique with a twist of Peranakan but the place is small. What I don’t like about the place is that it is not easily accessible. Best if the owner can provide promo for businesses or corporate. – UnifiedCommunication Malaysia
