You can take your whole family here and not just your sisters. We got the set F and the food was plenty. Banchan came and there was so much variety. My favorite banchan was the pumpkin. Set came and food was delicious all round. One thing to note is that you don’t cook the meat at the table. It’s done in the kitchen. – Chi Ling

One of the most well-liked Korean BBQ restaurants in Malaysia, Daorae, is still going strong. Daorae’s devoted fan base and excellent execution are the reasons it has endured throughout time. To wow your visitors, try the naengmyeon served with a tray of mixed meats.
Daiarest has garnered a lot of recognition for its consistently excellent food, hygienic and welcoming restaurants, amiable staff, and attentive service. You might anticipate authentic Korean cuisine that may bring to mind Korean barbecue restaurants.
Highlights:
- Prime-grade meats served
- Korean dishes in a clean, smoke-less ambiance
- Traditional charcoal BBQ
Food is consistent here. BBQ is nice. Prices may look high but they become more reasonable once you see the small dishes that they offer you. Set lunch at RM25 is good value for money. A large tray of meat, side dishes, rice, etc. Some say daorae is less Korean nowadays. Its subjective. Although the attendants here are from Myanmar. They are well-trained and friendly, especially the captain. – Fred Contracts

It’s my first time trying this Korean BBQ restaurant. I heard many good reviews about them but never had the chance. The place is huge and spacious. The air ventilation system is pretty good too. The food is awesome and many things can be refilled except meat and mushrooms. Service is pretty good too. No wonder many people like to come to this place. It’s really nice. – Michael Kesuma

Sodam started out as a traditional Korean restaurant in Seoul in 1998, and in 2002 it moved to Johor Bharu. A large restaurant with extensive Korean cuisine is called Sodam Korean BBQ. It covers everything from traditional Korean barbecue to side dishes including bulgogi, rice cakes, kimchi stew, and more. Yes, their BBQ is the major draw, but even for those who aren’t big eaters, there’s plenty of food available. Overall, it tastes well and is fresh!
Highlights:
- A standard Korean BBQ restaurant
- Imported fizzy drinks or brown rice tea
- There’s a kid’s corner
Seems to be run by a Korean family, couple, and kids that keep everything in check. The interior decor was spacious and air isn’t “smoked” as they do the grilling in the kitchen. Food is better than other Koreans that my family has been to. The pork leg portion is large – and tasted good, the premium grilled beef was juicy too. Fried chicken was a hit with the family. So was the Watermelon soju (though wasn’t served in a watermelon as pictured). We also had the dumpling snd 2 other ravens.. Overall, impressed by this hidden gem and will be back and try not to over-order again. – SK Wong

Kimchi & BBQ provides a wide range of Korean cuisine. Meals like BBQ, pancakes, noodles, and steamboat are among the most well-liked choices. Pork is one of the group’s favorite BBQ meats. Your barbecue will be prepared over an open flame that is integrated into your table. The fact that they provide hoods at every seat to remove smoke stains from your clothes is what sets this place apart.
Another dish you have to try is the Kimchi Pancake. The pancake isn’t too thick or overly red. There is enough of vegetables and squid in every meal, so don’t worry about it being hot. A la carte options include things like thickly sliced pork belly special, roasted saury, ginseng chicken soup, and kimchi pancake, as well as barbecued pork spare ribs with bone.
Highlights:
- A variety of Korean cuisine is available
- The price range is affordable
- Kimchi Pancake is also a must-try item
Kimchi pancake is very crispy and tasty! I dine with kids so its great that they help with the grilling. Kids also love their potato egg salad which we request for refill a couple of times. There’s a bell to ring for service but we sat at the rear and got their attention easily. Recommended! – Jonathan Soh
