Exciting news awaits as open call auditions are now announced for the coveted role of Tam in the upcoming Singapore season of the acclaimed musical “Miss Saigon.” Mark your calendars for April 27 and 28, as aspiring young talents aged four to eight are invited to showcase their skills.
This exciting opportunity was officially revealed by Base Entertainment Asia and GWB Entertainment in a press release dated Thursday, April 11.
Tam, the offspring of main characters Vietnamese girl Kim and American Marine sergeant Chris in the musical “Miss Saigon,” plays a minor yet crucial role in the storyline.
Describing the character, the release notes, “The character is male identifying, of Vietnamese heritage, with a playing age of three years old.” The role is open to children aged four to eight, with a maximum height of 115cm. While Tam is male identifying, candidates of any gender may audition, although those with long hair might be required to trim it if selected for the role.
Additionally, the child must exude confidence and possess the ability to remain still and silent throughout, as Tam does not have any spoken lines in the musical.
Prospective candidates are required to be physically present for the auditions and commit to all rehearsals and performances as outlined on the registration platform.
The venue for the auditions is currently pending announcement.
