Morning commuters on the Circle Line experience a train delay

Train services on the Circle Line in Singapore faced delays on Monday morning due to a train fault, leading to disruptions lasting about two hours. Commuters were advised by SMRT to allocate an additional half-hour to their usual travel time. The issue began with an alert posted on SMRT’s Facebook page at 6.09 am, notifying passengers of a delay between Holland Village and Pasir Panjang stations.

Train services on the Circle Line experienced further disruptions on April 29, extending to additional stations beyond the initial segment. SMRT updated commuters on Facebook at 6.43 am, citing a train fault that affected services. Passengers were advised to allocate up to 30 minutes of extra travel time between Paya Lebar and HarbourFront MRT stations on the Circle Line.

In response, in-train and station announcements were made to keep commuters informed. SMRT also provided free regular bus services from Paya Lebar to HarbourFront stations and free bridging bus services from Paya Lebar to Buona Vista stations. The disruptions gradually subsided, with regular train services resuming progressively after 7.30 am and fully returning to normal just after 8.10 am.

On March 22, commuters on the Circle Line faced delays due to a signalling fault occurring between Promenade and Nicoll Highway MRT stations.
