“While the Circuit Breaker in 2020 was a time of contemplation for some and respite for others, it turned out to be a time of revelations and a hard reset for me instead. I realised it was time to fight for what I truly wanted – a studio space of my own!
Despite being a professional photographer since 2009, it was only in 2020 when I came to terms over my life’s priorities and decided to take the plunge and open a physical studio with the support of close friends and my beloved family.
I started looking for a space the very next day right after Circuit Breaker ended. Everything clicked when I came across the perfect location for that studio I had always been dreaming of. My kids then sealed the deal by immediately falling in love with the place as soon as they laid eyes on it. After that, the rest was a blurred history and within a quick month; everything was up and running for my first studio clients.”
About the photographer
Melody’s photography journey started back in 2009. Being unsatisfied with how her wedding pictures turned out, she decided that she could do better. As a professional graphic designer skilled at both digital imaging and photography, she started to take portraits of her friends’ weddings and post her creations online.
Her spontaneous, fun and happy style of photography eventually captured the attention and imagination of many young couples, and people started to commission her work.
She has since photographed couples from all over the world – Japanese, Germans and Americans. These couples have kept in touch with her via social media over the years and she was privileged to be able to capture the most precious moments in their lives as their families grew; from their first babies to full-fledged family portraits.
She is also no stranger to overseas pre-wedding shoots, having shot with couples in gorgeous locations in Bali, Macau, Australia and Taiwan.

Today, the life of this mother of 2 revolves not only around her bespoke studio business and beloved clients, but also around her close-knit family and comical pet chickens. Her effervescent personality and inexplicable sense of humor makes her very well-liked by clients and she is a great hit with children of all ages. This is why her long-time clients keep going back to her for all their photo-shoots.
She is also a big fan of Korean horror dramas and bubble tea.
