Nick Vina Artisan Bakery established in 2011 by master baker Chef Nick Chua, who was trained in Germany Hanover. Chef Nick started baking and chewing bread in 2000 and received his sourdough baking in Hanover Germany. Chef Nick has drilled down the ground by sourcing non-GMO wheat from Hildesheimer Börde region,the most fertile soil in German, to bake for his bread. He also works with the local farmers and a 300years history family owned great mills in German Hildesheim since 1714. He has the opportunity to proceed his artisan bread research from both famous Artisan Bakery Heinrich Safft Artisan Bäckerei (Since 1826) and Godi’s Artisan Bäckerei which was once baked for the German Prime Minister and Pope. Chef Nick also received his sourdough training in Hanover at a renowned IsernHager Sourdough Research Center which gives him a in depth knowledge of sourdough lactic bacteria acid.
Our philosophy is “Simple bake perfect” which uses simple ingredients and focuses on whole grains with sourdough rather than using commercial yeast. “Good bread should be baked with simple ingredients that benefit the human body and society” that is where we are committed to bake healthier bread than sweet pastries. Nick Vina was the first bakery in Singapore awarded “Singapore Healthier Bakery in 2019” by Singapore Health Promotion Board and have received many awards such as “Healthy Bakery of the Year 2020” by Global Excellence London, “Best Takeaway Food 2019 & 2020” by Restaurant Guru, etc.
Nick Vina also a member of US Whole Grain Council and ranked as one of the best Sourdough in Singapore by Time out. Bread We can proudly call an “Artisan Bakery” which differential from other many bakeries that focuses more pastries, sweet bread and sweet treats than bread.
We have more than 50 types of artisan bread using different types of flours like rye, spelt, Buckwheat, Sprouted Wheat, Sorghum and many more with seeds and grains. There are many speciality bread and loaves as well which rarely can be seen in Singapore.
Chef Nick has baked and handcrafted many breads for many restaurants, hotels, and cafes. He has also work together with many celebrity Chefs by creating exciting menu using his sourdough loaves and grains.
