Tanba is the name of a Japanese BBQ restaurant located in Johor Bahru. They open at 12 p.m. on Monday through Saturday. They are open from 12 a.m. until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Tanba’s barbecue is reputedly inspired by an old Japanese hearth.

Regulars greatly praise their assortment of seafood, pig, chicken, cattle, lamb, ostrich, and venison dishes. Orders can be placed within two hours, but there is no time limit on when they can be consumed. They provide sashimi, sushi, soup, and dessert in addition to meat.

Very comfortable seats and a classy ambiance. The ordering system was down on that day, so the orders took some time to be served + missed out our orders many times too. Staff tried their best, however also can see a few staff just standing around not doing anything. Our first order of A5 beef was very tender, re-ordered and the cut was bad…very chewy. Cheap buffet, during covid they limit to 1.5 hours only. Rm 25 per pax is considered cheap. Only chicken & pork, no beef but it’s fine. Stayed at Amari JB last week, and the room comes with breakfast inclusive. The buffet breakfast at Amaya Cafe was massive and we had it for 2 days yet did not really taste all of the dishes. The cafe is nicely decorated with clean-setting serving stations. All the staff were very friendly and courteous with their greeting gestures and always smiling. Greeted with a great smile at the entrance to the cafe and shown to your table. Chef Hairi and his team at the egg and pancake station were very friendly and helpful. Also not forgetting guest relation Mr Sasi who came to enquire about our meal and experiences at Amari. There aren’t many food options @ Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast, so Sessions was one place to go to, if traveling out is not preferred. Thankfully, it was an eatery worthy of my time to write a review here about. The daily breakfast spread was great, as I loved their Nasi Lemak and Chicken Rendang.
