21 taken to hospital after bus hits road blocker at Changi Airport Terminal 3

On Tuesday (May 21), a bus driver and 20 passengers were hospitalized following a collision involving a Tower Transit vehicle and a road blocker at Changi Airport Terminal 3. The incident, which occurred around 12:40 pm, involved bus service 858 according to a spokesperson from the bus operator.

Mr. Glenn Lim, Tower Transit’s Director of Communications and Customer Experience, stated that the bus collided with a road blocker after a security barrier was lifted to allow the bus to proceed towards the Terminal 3 bus stop. The incident is currently under investigation.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and the police were alerted to the accident along Changi Airport Terminal 3 Arrival Drive around 12:40 pm. The bus driver, a 25-year-old man, and 20 passengers aged between 21 and 68 were conscious when transported to the hospital. Investigations are ongoing, according to the police.

A video posted on the Facebook page Singapore roads accident.com shows significant damage to the front of the bus and partial dislodging of the entrance door due to the collision. Inside the bus, a broken panel and pole are visible on the floor, with some passengers appearing disoriented, including two individuals sitting on the ground. One woman is shown with a forehead cut, with what seems to be bloodied tissues nearby.
