Super Junior members, both past and present, reunited at Ryeowook’s wedding. The event marked a rare occasion where every member of Super Junior’s main group and sub-units came together to celebrate.
Veteran South Korean boy group Super Junior brought fans to tears and cheers on Sunday (May 26) during member Ryeowook’s wedding with Ari, a former member of the girl group Tahiti.
The wedding saw a heartwarming reunion of all 15 former and current members of Super Junior’s main group and sub-units, a feat many fans thought was impossible given the circumstances behind some members’ departures.
On the day of the wedding, Lee Sung-soo – the chief A&R officer of SM Entertainment (Super Junior’s agency) – uploaded an Instagram story featuring the 15 members posing for a photo together. The members are:
- Leeteuk
- Heechul
- Yesung
- Shindong
- Sungmin
- Eunhyuk
- Siwon
- Donghae
- Ryeowook
- Kyuhyun
- Hangeng
- Kangin
- Kibum
- Zhou Mi
- Henry
Among the 15 members, Hangeng, Kangin, and Kibum have departed from the group. Zhou Mi and Henry are part of Super Junior-M, a sub-unit targeting the Chinese market.
Out of the remaining 10 members, Sungmin is on indefinite hiatus, leaving nine active members in Super Junior.
Fans speculated that due to these circumstances, the Super Junior members took various photos in different combinations during the wedding, adding to the sentimental and memorable occasion.
Attendees captured moments of the nine active Super Junior members posing and cheering for a photo, sharing the joyous occasion on social media.
Reports from attendees revealed that all 15 Super Junior members performed their classic hit “Sorry, Sorry” at the ceremony. SES member Bada was also present and performed a song for the newlyweds.
In addition to Ryeowook and Ari’s wedding, May 26 marked the weddings of other notable couples in the South Korean entertainment scene. Train To Busan star Ma Dong-seok had a wedding ceremony with model Ye Jung-hwa after years of being married officially. Meanwhile, MBLAQ member Thunder tied the knot with Gugudan member Mimi, with Thunder’s sister Sandara Park delivering a performance during the celebration.
