If you love the texture of rice cakes but aren’t a fan of spicy cuisine, tteokbokki with cream sauces makes a great substitute. Two of the alternatives are creamy mushroom and beef, while the famous dish’s vegetarian-friendly version is creamy tomato.

Highly impressed by the matcha latte and hojicha latte, frothy, smooth, fragrant, and not too sweet. The kimchi fried rice came with egg and cheese on the side, and tasted okay. The yeon set, however, was a bit lacklustre because the kimchi soup was quite diluted, served warm, and the bonito flakes were overpowering. A really well-decorated cafe that serves up some really nice Korean food. First visit here and probably will revisit for the rest of the menu. Had mushroom soup, soy garlic fried chicken, beef bulgogi kimbap and a hojicha tea latte. Mushroom soup is good although it isn’t thick type. Soy garlic sauce is a slight letdown, not as tasty as I thought. The fried chicken which was cooked fresh were not as crispy but I enjoyed the cold radish that came with it. Loved the mustard ham croissant as it was so crispy! Eggs Benedict is well toasted with nice sweet potato fries (wasn’t served hot even though we went at opening hours). Oolong tea was brewed to exact timing by the staff and served in a tray – one was only offered one additional brew and that was it. Dark choc tiramisu is super chocolatey but quite nice, worth a try. The Founders Café’s friendly staff, delicious food, and relaxed atmosphere have helped it to be a favorite brunch destination. Notable features include the restaurant with a simple industrial motif, the sky blue Volkswagen vehicle on the side, and the high window frame entry.

Starting at 10 a.m. Australian-style brunch specials are served here till 5 p.m. The English Big Breakfast consists of a tray of items for breakfast such as potato tots, bacon, and scrambled eggs, or the Vegan Banana Oatmeal Pancake, which is made with banana, honey, and granola.

This cafe is an easy 5-star rating from me. The taste of their food and drinks, as well as the atmosphere of the cafe were outstanding. The prices were reasonable too. I’d visit again next time and recommend others to give it a try if you’re in JB. If I have to point out something, I’d say that they shouldn’t have given my “extra top-up of sunny side egg” immediately from the start, like 15 minutes before the main dishes even arrived. Only in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Perak, Penang, and Selangor is Thaipusam often observed as a public holiday.

Every year, millions of Hindu devotees participate in one of the most fervent spiritual events on the planet—Thaipusam.

Traditionally, Thaipusam occurs with a full moon. The festival honors Lord Muragan, the Hindu deity of war, who is revered in sacred mythology for having vanquished three demonic spirits in the service of righteousness.

On the first day of Thaipusam, a statue of Lord Muragan is presented during a parade through Kuala Lumpur’s streets by a chariot. To fulfill the vows, there is a lengthy barefoot walk to the Batu Caves on the second day.

Usually, the highlight of the festivities is the stroll to the Batu Caves. Some pilgrims may bring elaborate frames (kavadi) and big milk jugs on their journey. As a sign of penance, the kavadi are held aloft by a set of spikes that penetrate their flesh on their backs and chests laterally.

Devotees are welcomed by a 42.7 m statue of Lord Muragan as they arrive in the caverns. After that, they will ascend a huge stairway to reach the limestone caverns, which are lined with shrines that are ready for offerings.

Those who have chosen to wear the kavadi will have mostly followed a very limited diet in the month before the journey, and they will fast entirely in the final few days before the pilgrimage. These extremes, of course, call for an extremely high degree of mental and physical fortitude.

Many devotees who go on the pilgrimage choose to carry a pot of milk instead of getting their flesh pierced with hooks, since the Hindu religion views this as a sign of plenty and fertility. Thaipusam is seen by many Hindu believers as a sign of fidelity and commitment between humans and the gods. It may be viewed as a way to express gratitude to Lord Muragan for answering any requests.

In keeping with tradition, attendees of the celebration will present Lord Muragan with presents of orange and yellow fruits and flowers while donning apparel of the same hues. Offerings are offered to a great many different shrines, the most well-known of which are located in the Batu Caves.

Every year, almost a million people assemble in the Batu Caves in Kuala Lumpur to celebrate Thaipusam, a national holiday marked by parades and ceremonies in which believers execute ceremonial actions at various sites. Visitors swarm to see Thaipusam’s vibrant colors, lively atmosphere, and activities.

Rarely do I hear food and drink knowledge of this caliber at a restaurant befitting a 5-star hotel in Europe. Edo Ichi, a Japanese restaurant, provides a unique Izakaya eating and drinking encounter. They provide a large selection of dishes, such as fried rice with dried prawns, salad, sushi, omakase, and garlic rice.

You may eat at a Kappo-style restaurant at Kappo by Arakawa. They provide delicious traditional Japanese cuisine as well as the rare chance to observe the food being made. The chef can prepare cuisine in front of the customers.

Good quality and enjoyable Omakase at a reasonable price point. We had the RM250 course, I pre-booked. The presentation was on-point, unique combinations attempted by the chef was very well executed. Service was prompt and professional, very personalized as only a few sitting at a time. Chef and sous chefs friendly and will tell you about their source of ingredients if you’re interested and ask. Sashimi and nigiri very fresh. Huge Hokkaido oyster, very juicy, this is seasonal, lucky to be able to try it.
