The total site area of The Watergardens at Canberra is 27,566.1 square meters and the total gross floor area of the site stands at 38,593 square meters. It is expected to store up to 455 housing units with an allowable height of five stories or 35-50 meters.

The Watergardens site is the larger of the two Canberra Drive sites and the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) has awarded it to the United Venture Development. The site was a part of the Government Land Sales programme and managed to attract a total of four bids. The second-highest bid of $257.9 came from the partnership between Greatview Group and MCC Land (Singapore), and the lowest bid of $240 million came from CSC Land Group (Singapore).
